Laurențiu Reghecampf has officially returned to FCSB following the departure of Marius Baciu on 24 September 2026. The manager is currently preparing for his second match in charge, a SuperLiga fixture against FC Voluntari. During the pre-match press conference, Reghecampf addressed questions regarding his preparation period and the team's standing in the league table.

Tension arose when journalists attempted to draw parallels between Reghecampf's tenure and the previous regime. The manager firmly rejected these comparisons, stating that he had moved past such discussions. He emphasized that he did not intend to enter into a public exchange of remarks with his former colleague, despite recent comments made by Baciu regarding decisions at the club.

Reghecampf expressed irritation at the suggestion that he should respond to his predecessor's criticisms. He stated that engaging in such a debate would significantly lower his own professional level. The coach maintained that while Baciu has the right to speak about his own period in charge, he sees no reason to comment on those matters himself.

Addressing claims about available preparation time, Reghecampf noted that he also faced squad limitations. He revealed that he was missing eight or nine players during his first three weeks back. The manager argued that the competitive break was available to every team in the league, regardless of who was in charge, dismissing the idea that his circumstances were uniquely advantageous.

The FCSB boss declined to provide details on events that occurred before his return to the bench. He acknowledged that there are existing problems within the squad and the league standings but insisted that his focus remains on the present. Reghecampf concluded by asserting that each managerial period should be viewed independently.
