FCSB defeated Rapid 4-1 in round 13 of the Superliga.

Aymen Boutoutaou entered the match at halftime after being substituted in by coach Laurențiu Reghecampf. He scored two goals in the 69th and 81st minutes. His second strike was the fourth goal for FCSB in the derby. Reports confirmed he scored twice in the victory.

Former FCSB coach Marius Baciu addressed the new signing following the performance. Baciu warned Boutoutaou that he must maintain the same level of play. He noted that owner Gigi Becali is a demanding patron who expects consistency. Baciu also observed that most new players lacked necessary preparation because they arrived after the training camp, with Labonne being the exception.

Former Steaua striker Liță Dumitru praised Boutoutaou after the match against Rapid. Dumitru described the player as a genius with a great future. He stated that Becali would have made a big mistake by selling him. Dumitru also identified Stoian, Pădurariu, and Cisotti as players with perspective for FCSB. Dumitru scored 12 goals in 57 matches for the Romania national team and recorded 47 goals in 213 matches for Steaua.

Gigi Becali paid 1,300,000 euros to sign Boutoutaou from Sochaux. The forward was nearly transferred to Universitatea Craiova in a swap deal involving Steven Nsimba. Becali and Mihai Rotaru discussed an arrangement where FCSB would pay an 800,000 euro difference to complete the exchange. The transfer failed after Laurențiu Reghecampf asked Becali to keep the player.
