Rapid president Victor Angelescu says FCSB star Aymen Boutoutaou is above SuperLiga level

FCSB defeated Rapid 4-1 on October 24 in round 13 of the Superliga regular season at Arena Națională. The result marked the third consecutive victory for coach Laurențiu Reghecampf in his third tenure with the club.

Rapid opened the scoring in the 11th minute through Filip Stojilkovic. Despite the early deficit, former international Adrian Ilie stated that he bet on FCSB scoring at least two goals after Rapid took the lead.

Aymen Boutoutaou replaced David Miculescu at halftime for FCSB. Coach Reghecampf instructed the substitute to dribble and shoot upon entering the match. Boutoutaou went on to score two goals in the derby against Rapid.

Rapid president Victor Angelescu described Boutoutaou as a player above the level of the SuperLiga following the performance. Angelescu admitted he had hoped Boutoutaou would not play in the derby.

Adrian Ilie suggested that Boutoutaou benefited from Rapid's defensive chaos and lack of aggression during the match. Ilie also stated that FCSB dominated the match like Mike Tyson and that Reghecampf was a step ahead of Rapid coach Daniel Pancu.

Reghecampf stated that FCSB wanted the win more than Rapid and entered the second half much better. Boutoutaou claimed that Reghecampf told him he is of UCL quality, though this remark was reported with uncertainty.

FCSB will play against Universitatea Cluj on Monday, November 2, at 20:30.
