The Romanian football calendar: 2026–27

The revised SuperLiga start and the published Romanian Cup dates, with official sources and links to current fixtures.

Season 2026–27 · Reviewed

The season’s opening dates

The FRF decision of 8 May moved the SuperLiga opening weekend to 18–19 July 2026, replacing the original 11–12 July slot. It also moved the Romanian Super Cup to 11 July. These refer to different competitions: the Super Cup is not the first league round. The linked revised calendar is the reference for the league’s round allocation.

Winter break and the second stage

The revised FRF calendar places round 20 on 19–20 December 2026 and round 21 on 16–17 January 2027, creating the planned winter break between those rounds. Round 30 is scheduled for 13–14 March. The first play-off/play-out weekend is 20–21 March; the final play-off round is allocated to 29–30 May. Treat these as round windows rather than individual match appointments.

Romanian Cup dates

The official 2026–27 Cup calendar lists group rounds on 2 September, 28 October and 2 December 2026. Its knockout dates are 3 March 2027 for the quarter-finals, 21 April for the semi-finals and 12 May for the final. These are published competition dates, not guaranteed kick-off times for every match.

Planning around a match

For a specific league match, check the upcoming-fixtures section of the SuperLiga match centre and the linked LPF details. ScoreTransfer displays Bucharest time and identifies when its daily snapshot was refreshed. A competition calendar helps you understand the season; the fixture listing provides the individual game’s recorded date and time.
