FCSB has appointed Laurențiu Reghecampf as its new head coach. The club made the change after 10 rounds of league play. Marius Baciu was replaced in the role. At the time of the appointment, FCSB trailed league leader Dinamo.
Reghecampf arrived at the club after terminating his agreement with Esperance Tunis. This move ended his tenure with the Tunisian side and cleared the way for his return to Romanian football.
The new coach started his tenure with a victory. His first match in charge resulted in a 1-0 win against Oțelul. This result marked an immediate positive outcome for the managerial change.
Mihai Stoica provided details about the early interactions between the coach and the club owner. Stoica stated that Reghecampf privately promised Gigi Becali 10 wins in the first 10 rounds. This claim was reported as part of the internal discussions surrounding the appointment.
Reghecampf has a history of success with FCSB. During two previous mandates with the club, he won two titles. He also guided the team to the round of 16 in the Europa League during those periods.
Club officials highlighted the immediate impact of the new coach on team dynamics. Mihai Stoica claimed that Reghecampf resolved staff communication issues within minutes of taking charge. This assertion suggests a rapid stabilization of the internal environment.
Stoica also reported on the coach's influence on player participation. He stated that Reghecampf convinced a hesitant player to train and play in a friendly match. This action was cited as an example of the coach's ability to manage squad morale and availability.
