Olimpiu Moruțan has officially extended his contract with Rapid. The new agreement keeps the midfielder at the club until 30 June 2028. This extension adds one year to his previous commitment.
Reports from Fanatik state that Moruțan receives a monthly salary of 38,000 euros under the new deal. This figure represents an increase of 5,000 euros per month. These financial details are attributed to specific media outlets and remain unconfirmed by the club.
Moruțan joined Rapid at the start of the year. He arrived on a free transfer from Aris Salonic. His move marked a return to Romanian football after a stint abroad.
The player has been active in the current campaign. He has scored two goals and provided seven assists in 13 league matches this season. These contributions have come during the ongoing domestic competition.
His performance last season included one goal and four assists. These statistics were recorded across 19 appearances for the team. The data reflects his output during the previous competitive cycle.
Contract negotiations have varied among other squad members. Alex Pașcanu refused the first contract extension offer presented by Rapid. The defender declined the initial terms proposed by the management.
Alex Dobre also rejected a renewal proposal. The offer included a monthly salary of 15,000 euros. This amount contained a raise of 3,000 euros compared to his previous earnings.
Rapid continues to discuss extensions with other players. The club is currently in negotiations with Marian Aioani. Discussions are also underway with Răzvan Onea regarding their future at the team.
