Victor Angelescu, the minority shareholder and president of Rapid București, has highlighted three specific footballers as performing above the standard of the Superliga. In recent comments, Angelescu grouped Aymen Boutoutaou of FCSB, Olimpiu Moruțan of Rapid and Danny Armstrong of Dinamo together in this elite category. He described them as individuals capable of deciding matches through their individual quality.
The praise for Boutoutaou followed his decisive performance in the derby between FCSB and Rapid on 24 October 2026. Although Rapid held a 1-0 lead at halftime, the match turned in the second period. Boutoutaou entered the game as a substitute for Miculescu and changed the course of the contest. He scored twice to help secure a 4-1 victory for FCSB, with Joao Paulo and Muhar also finding the net for the winners.
Angelescu admitted that he had been concerned about Boutoutaou's potential impact during the break. He noted that while Miculescu had not performed well, he hesitated to introduce the Algerian forward because of his dangerous nature. Angelescu stated that he had recognized Boutoutaou's quality since his arrival and viewed him as one of the few players who could single-handedly determine a result.
Meanwhile, Danny Armstrong continues to lead the Superliga statistics for decisive goal contributions. The Dinamo midfielder has accumulated fifteen such contributions in just thirteen rounds of the championship. His record includes five goals and ten assists, placing him ahead of other notable players such as Elisor, Lukic and Moruțan. This statistical dominance underscores why Angelescu included the Scottish player in his list of top-tier performers.
