Ivan Mamut has become the most expensive transfer in the history of Persija Jakarta. The striker joined the Indonesian club from Varazdin at the beginning of September. Persija Jakarta paid 500,000 euros to secure his signature.

Mamut has made an immediate impact since his arrival. He scored two goals in 94 minutes of play for Persija Jakarta. His playing time has come entirely from the bench, as he appeared as a substitute in all six of his league matches for the club.

One of his contributions occurred during a 2-1 win against Persik Kediri. Mamut had a goal disallowed by VAR five minutes after entering the match. Despite the cancellation, his presence coincided with a victory for his new team.

Persija Jakarta currently leads the Indonesian championship. The club has accumulated 18 points. They sit four points ahead of Dewa United in the standings.

Mamut arrived in Indonesia with a strong recent scoring record. He recorded 14 goals and six assists in 36 matches for Varazdin before making the move. This form followed a productive spell in Malaysia.

During his time with Terengganu FC in Malaysia, Mamut scored 23 goals in 35 matches. He had joined Terengganu after leaving FCSB. Gigi Becali released him from the Romanian club in the summer of 2022 due to dissatisfaction with his performance.
