Sofya Dawa has confirmed that her husband, Joyskim Dawa, will leave FCSB at the end of the current season. She announced that the 2026-2027 campaign is his final year with the club.
The defender’s contract is set to expire on 30 June 2027. Sofya Dawa stated that he will not sign a new deal with the Bucharest side when his current agreement concludes.
Joyskim Dawa has already begun preparations for his departure. He announced that his agent has started talks with other clubs to facilitate a free transfer once the season ends.
The announcement came shortly after FCSB defeated Rapid 4-1 in round 13 of the Superliga. Joyskim Dawa played the full match, which marked his 11th league appearance of the season.
Sofya Dawa expressed happiness regarding the victory over Rapid. She noted that the family has lived in Bucharest for four years since Joyskim joined the club.
FCSB signed Joyskim Dawa from FC Botoșani in July 2022 for a fee of 350,000 euros. He regained his starting status for the recent match due to medical issues affecting teammates Ngezana and Mihai Popescu.
Reports differ on his total statistics for the club. Sport.ro and GSP state he has made 161 appearances and scored 15 goals, while iAMsport lists 119 appearances and eight goals.
During his time at FCSB, Joyskim Dawa helped the team win the Superliga title in the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 seasons. Sources also disagree on his cup honors, with some citing two Romanian Supercup wins and others citing one.
The Cameroon international has earned 10 caps for his national team. His departure next summer will mark the end of a four-year stint in the Romanian capital.
