FCSB is currently negotiating the termination of defender Eddy Gnahore's contract, with reports suggesting an agreement could be reached by the end of the year. The club has reportedly become convinced of the need to part ways with the French player to make room for a new signing in the midfield.
The primary obstacle in these negotiations is financial. Gnahore signed a two-year contract with the club, which means FCSB would be obligated to pay a significant compensatory sum to break the agreement early. Sources indicate that the player earns a monthly salary of 25,000 euros, complicating the exit strategy for the Bucharest-based team.
Head coach Laurentiu Reghecampf is reportedly seeking a different type of player for the number 6 position. The coaching staff desires a midfielder who offers more aggression, speed, and passing ability than Gnahore has provided. Consequently, searches for a replacement with these specific attributes have already begun.
Since joining FCSB, Gnahore has made ten appearances and scored one goal. His playing time has been limited, including a brief 12-minute appearance in a 1-0 victory against Otelul. Club official Mihai Stoica commented on the situation, stating that adaptation difficulties are not unusual in football. Stoica noted that Gnahore had previously recorded 97 appearances and six goals for Dinamo, suggesting his past performance was strong despite current struggles.
According to Transfermarkt, Eddy Gnahore is currently valued at 600,000 euros. The defender has previously played for several clubs including Crotone, Birmingham, and Dinamo before his recent move to FCSB.
