FCSB owner Gigi Becali has clarified the financial details surrounding the loan of striker Daniel Bîrligea to Italian club Frosinone. The agreement involves an initial payment and a significant conditional sum dependent on the club's performance in Serie A.

The loan deal, which began in late August, includes an initial fee of 1.5 million euros. Becali stated that this amount is scheduled to arrive in FCSB accounts by the end of November 2026. He confirmed that the club has not yet received this initial tranche.

A further clause in the contract stipulates an additional payment if Frosinone avoids relegation from Serie A. Reports indicate this conditional bonus is worth 3.5 million euros. Becali expects the total value of the deal to reach 5 million euros if this condition is met.

Some sources describe the clause as triggering a mandatory permanent transfer upon survival in the top flight. Becali noted that the 5 million euro figure was proposed by the buying club. He previously stated that FCSB purchased Bîrligea for 2.5 million euros.

Frosinone currently sits 6th in Serie A after seven rounds, having accumulated 13 points. This position places them in contention for Conference League preliminaries. Their next match is an away fixture against Atalanta on 25 October.

Despite the club's strong start to the season, Bîrligea has had limited playing time. He has appeared in three Serie A matches, totaling 13 minutes without recording a goal or assist. He also featured in one Italian Cup match, where he played 63 minutes.

During his tenure at FCSB, Bîrligea made 80 appearances, scoring 33 goals and providing 8 assists. If Frosinone fails to meet the survival condition, contractual terms may allow for his return to FCSB, though this remains uncertain.

In other team news, FCSB secured a decisive victory against Rapid, marking their third consecutive win in domestic competition.
