Laurențiu Reghecampf made a successful debut on the FCSB bench during his third tenure with the club. He guided the team to a victory in his first match back in charge.
FCSB defeated Oțelul 1-0 in round 11 of the Superliga. Stoian scored the only goal of the match to secure the three points for the home side.
The LPF granted Reghecampf provisional registration to coach from the sidelines before this match against Oțelul. This allowed him to take his place in the technical area despite ongoing administrative questions.
Lucian Burchel, head of the FRF Coaches' School, stated that he had never encountered such a case before. He provided details on how the temporary arrangement was reached.
Burchel explained that the provisional dispensation was based on a document from the FRF legal department. The document proposed that Reghecampf function as an interim coach while the situation was reviewed.
Mihai Stoica announced that the final decision regarding Reghecampf's right to sit on the bench would be made on Wednesday. This date aligns with scheduled proceedings at the disciplinary body.
Parties are scheduled to meet at the Commission of Discipline and Ethics on October 14. The goal of this meeting is to reach an agreement on the matter.
If the documentation is validated and the conflict is resolved, Reghecampf will receive his contract visa and badge. If not, he will likely lose his rights to manage from the bench.
Reghecampf had a financial dispute with U Craiova dating back to autumn 2023. The issue involved alleged debts of 150,000 euros and 17,000 euros in penalties.
FCSB resolved the debt issue with U Craiova after the club made démarches to FRF commissions. This step was taken to clear the administrative hurdles facing the new coach.
