The Romanian Football Federation (FRF) has granted FCSB permission for Laurențiu Reghecampf to coach in internal competitions. This provisional approval applies before the Disciplinary Commission reaches a final decision on October 14, 2026. The ruling allows Reghecampf to remain on the touchline for upcoming matches, including the fixture against Oțelul Galați.
Universitatea Craiova contests the full payment of Reghecampf's debt. The club may sue the FRF for allowing him to coach until the dispute is fully resolved. This legal threat highlights the ongoing tension between the parties regarding the financial obligations of the former coach.
Reghecampf previously faced a coaching ban in the Superliga due to a €150,000 debt to Universitatea Craiova. This historical ban formed the basis of the recent disciplinary review. The current permission serves as an interim measure while the commission examines the status of these financial liabilities.
Gigi Becali stated he paid €150,000 to Universitatea Craiova to settle the matter. He claimed the club could only sue for interest if they had proof of outstanding amounts. This assertion challenges the basis of Universitatea Craiova's continued objections to Reghecampf's licensing.
Mihai Rotaru requests approximately €15,000 in penalties related to Reghecampf's financial obligations. This figure represents additional costs beyond the principal debt amount. The demand for penalties adds another layer to the financial dispute surrounding the coach's past tenure.
Oțelul Galați is prepared to file an appeal if regulationally possible regarding Reghecampf's coaching status. The club seeks to challenge the FRF's decision to grant temporary permission. This potential legal action indicates that not all league participants accept the interim ruling.
FCSB risks potential point deduction if Oțelul's appeal succeeds. Such a penalty would impact the team's standing in the league table. The outcome of any subsequent appeal process remains uncertain as the disciplinary timeline continues.
