FCSB head coach Laurențiu Reghecampf stated that former winger Florinel Coman would be welcome to return to the Bucharest club. This comment comes amid reports suggesting advanced negotiations for the player to leave Al Gharafa in Qatar.
Media outlet Trumedia reported that FCSB had reached an advanced agreement with Coman. The same report claimed the transfer could become official at the beginning of 2027.
Coman is reportedly negotiating a contract termination with officials at Al Gharafa. Sources indicate the player has repeatedly requested to leave the Qatari club due to difficulties with adaptation.
Federico Pastorello, the agent representing Coman, offered a different perspective on the timeline. He stated there are minimal chances for the player to return to the Romanian Superliga in the winter of 2026.
Pastorello indicated that a potential transfer back to Romania is not currently a good idea for his client. He suggested that discussions regarding such a move could take place in the summer of 2027.
The agent also stated that a return to FCSB is not an option for Coman at the moment. This contradicts reports linking the player with an imminent departure from Qatar.
Coman, aged 28, has made seven appearances for Al Gharafa this season. He has provided two assists in 361 minutes of play.
The winger earns an annual salary of two million euros while playing in Qatar. His current contract situation remains a point of discussion between the player and the club.
Coman previously played for FCSB from 2017 to 2024. During this period, he won the championship, the Romanian Cup, and the Romanian Supercup.
He made 233 matches for the Bucharest side, scoring 63 goals and providing 62 assists. In his final season before leaving, he recorded 19 goals and 11 assists.
FCSB originally transferred Coman from Viitorul in 2017 for three million euros. The club sold him to a Qatari team after seven years for six million euros.
Al Gharafa paid five million euros for the transfer in 2024. FIFA later sanctioned the Qatari club with a one million euro penalty due to delayed transfer payments.
FCSB received a total of six million euros from the sale. Coman spent the 2024/2025 season on loan at Cagliari in Serie A before his permanent move was finalized.
