FCSB secured a decisive 4-1 victory against Rapid in the 13th round derby of the SuperLiga. Filip Stojilkovic opened the scoring for Rapid in the 11th minute, but FCSB responded with goals from Karlo Muhar, Aymen Boutoutaou, who scored twice, and Joao Paulo.

Former coach Mircea Rednic described the win as fully deserved, expressing surprise at the extent of FCSB's control. He attributed the team's improved stability to Laurențiu Reghecampf, noting that defensive issues prevalent before his arrival had been resolved. Rednic observed that FCSB maintained better ball circulation and field presence throughout the match.

In contrast, Rednic was critical of Rapid's performance, particularly regarding attitude and tactical choices. He stated that Daniel Pancu's second-half substitutions were ineffective, a view reportedly shared by Pancu himself. Rednic noted that Rapid failed to create sufficient danger after their early goal and lacked the intensity expected given their season's prior form.

FCSB owner Gigi Becali did not attend the match at the Arena Națională, admitting he feared being embarrassed if his team lost. He stated that he preferred to avoid the stadium when there was a risk of defeat. Despite the absence, Becali commented on the team's physical superiority over Rapid and announced intentions to sign at least three new players during the winter transfer window.
