FIFA sets amount owed by Estrela Amadora to Hermannstadt in Ianis Stoica dispute

FIFA published details regarding a financial dispute between Hermannstadt and Estrela Amadora over the transfer of Ianis Stoica. The governing body set the amount owed at 285,000 euros plus interest. This ruling addresses part of a broader disagreement involving a total transfer value of 1.15 million euros.

The two clubs signed the transfer contract for the player on 24 July 2025. The total agreed transfer value was 1,150,000 euros net. This sum was payable in three installments with specific deadlines scheduled for 2025 and 2026.

Hermannstadt filed a complaint with FIFA on 6 November 2025. The club took this step after Estrela Amadora failed to pay the first installment. This payment was originally due on 30 August 2025.

FIFA ruled that Estrela Amadora owes Hermannstadt 285,000 euros for this first installment. The ruling also includes 5% annual interest. This amount is lower than the 300,000 euros initially requested by Hermannstadt.

The original 300,000 euro figure for the first installment included a 5% solidarity contribution. This contribution applies to clubs where the player was registered between the ages of 12 and 23. FIFA determined this amount should not be paid directly to Hermannstadt in this context.

Estrela Amadora faces additional regulatory pressure. The club is on FIFA's list of teams with a transfer ban. This ban covers three market windows and has been in effect since 24 September 2026.

Hermannstadt is dealing with significant financial challenges. AFC Hermannstadt entered bankruptcy after its judicial administrator cited an inability to pay current debts. The club's definitive creditor table lists total claims of 28.4 million lei, which is approximately 5.6 million euros, as of 25 September 2026.

AJFP Sibiu holds the largest single claim against the club. This debt amounts to 6.17 million lei, or approximately 1.22 million euros. It represents 21.74% of the total registered claims against AFC Hermannstadt.
