FC Koln is reportedly monitoring Romanian forward Ianis Stoica for a potential transfer from Estrela Amadora, although German media indicate that the likelihood of a deal is low. The club has been observing the player, but no formal offer or confirmed interest has been presented by the Bundesliga side to date.

The primary obstacle cited by German press is a tactical mismatch. FC Koln is seeking a central striker to resolve offensive issues exacerbated by injuries to Thijs Dallinga and Ragnar Ache under coach Thomas Kessler. Stoica is characterized as a classic left winger, a profile the club already covers with Said El Mala, who is valued at 50 million euros by Transfermarkt.

Stoica has been playing for Estrela Amadora since 2025, recording four goals and two assists in the current season. While Transfermarkt values him at 5 million euros, reports suggest his current club is asking for 7.5 million euros. His strengths include speed and cutting inside from the left flank, but he is viewed as an alternative rather than a solution for the central attacking role Koln currently lacks.

Amidst these doubts regarding Stoica, German media have identified Lukas Nmecha as a more realistic target for FC Koln. The 27-year-old forward, currently at Leeds, is valued at 10 million euros. He has registered one assist in six Premier League appearances this season, offering the central striking presence that Koln reportedly requires.
