Former FCSB striker Daniel Popa is reportedly close to signing with Liga 2 team FC Bihor, according to Prosport.

The potential move comes after Popa became a free agent at the end of the 2025-2026 season. He left Metaloglobus when his contract expired.

Metaloglobus was relegated to the second division at the conclusion of that same campaign.

FC Bihor is currently coached by Erik Lincar. The club ranks 11th in Liga 2 after 10 rounds of matches.

Popa has not played an official match for approximately five months. This absence was due to recovery from injury.

The striker previously underwent surgery on a metatarsal. Reports indicate he is now fully recovered.

Popa stated he might accept an offer from Liga 3 if he does not find a suitable option in Liga 1 or Liga 2 by winter.

His career includes spells at Dinamo, FC Botoșani, Chindia Târgoviște, U Cluj, FCSB, Daejeon, and Genclerbirligi.
