Mihai Iosif has reached an agreement to become the new head coach of ASA Târgu Mureș in Liga 2. Club president Liviu Muruțan confirmed that Iosif will terminate his current contract to take charge of the team. The appointment comes one day after the club parted ways with previous coach Eusebiu Tudor.
ASA Târgu Mureș announced the departure of Eusebiu Tudor on 27 October. The decision followed three consecutive defeats in Liga 2, which left the club in 14th place in the standings. After 11 rounds of matches, the team had accumulated 11 points.
Iosif joins ASA Târgu Mureș from Dunărea Călărași, where he was coaching in Liga 3. He had been appointed at Dunărea Călărași in September and led the team to ninth place with 14 points after 10 matches. His tenure at the Liga 3 club lasted approximately one month before this move.
The 52-year-old coach previously managed Rapid, where he achieved promotion to the SuperLiga in 2021. During his time at Rapid, he coached 42 matches and recorded an average of 1.45 points per game. His earlier coaching roles include positions at FC Voluntari, Minaur Baia Mare, and ASC FC Dinamo.
Eusebiu Tudor had joined ASA Târgu Mureș in the summer of 2025. His dismissal marks the second coaching change for the club in recent months as they seek to improve their position in the second tier of Romanian football.
