ASA Târgu Mureș announced the mutual termination of its contract with head coach Eusebiu Tudor and his technical staff on October 27, 2026. The club cited three consecutive defeats in the most recent rounds as the primary reason for the separation.

Collaborators Cezar Zanfir, Gabriel Vasiliu and Ovidiu Popescu were included in the amicable agreement to end their collaboration with the club. At the time of the announcement, ASA Târgu Mureș had collected 11 points in 11 rounds during the current season.

Tudor effectively began his mandate in summer 2024 when the team was named Unirea Ungheni. He kept Unirea Ungheni in Liga 2 and remained in charge after the squad and league place were ceded to ASA Târgu Mureș.

Under Tudor's command, ASA won 19 of 41 matches, with 8 draws and 14 defeats. Prior to the cession, Tudor's record as coach of Unirea Ungheni was 9 wins, 8 draws and 12 losses.

Digi Sport reported that Tudor had joined ASA Tg. Mureș in summer 2025 and signed a contract until 2027. The outlet also noted that Cristi Săpunaru was considered for the coaching role but no agreement was reached.

ASA Tg. Mureș appointed Mihai Iosif as the new head coach shortly after Tudor's departure. Iosif previously coached Rapid, FC Voluntari, Minaur, and Dunărea Călărași.

During his tenure at Rapid, Iosif managed 42 matches with an average of 1.45 points per game. He also promoted Rapid to the SuperLiga in 2021.

Reports emerged alleging that former player Gabi Tamaș paid Tudor's outstanding dues personally to facilitate his departure. Club president Liviu Muruțan denied that Tamaș made personal payments for the settlement.
