Universitatea Craiova defender Adrian Rus has returned to team training after recovering from a severe injury sustained earlier in the season. The news was confirmed by Horia Ivanovici, moderator of Fanatik Superliga, who indicated that the player is progressing well in his rehabilitation process.

Rus suffered the injury during the sixth round of the SuperLiga in a match against FC Voluntari, which Universitatea Craiova won 3-1. At the time, initial reports regarding the central defender's condition were not optimistic, leading to concerns about his availability for the remainder of the autumn schedule.

In early October, head coach Filipe Coelho had stated that Rus was still undergoing treatment and was unable to participate in training sessions. Coelho had previously emphasized that while recovery was proceeding, it was impossible for the player to feature in immediate fixtures due to the need for further time on the pitch.

Ivanovici reported that Rus is now expected to be fit for upcoming games against FC Botoșani, Ignația and CFR Cluj. This development is viewed as a significant boost for both the club and national team coach Gheorghe Hagi, who relies on the defender for international duties.

Speaking to Prima Sport during his recovery, Rus admitted that the mental aspect of being sidelined was particularly challenging. He noted that while the psychological hurdle has been overcome, he anticipates physical difficulties as he reintegrates with the squad after losing more than a month of activity.

The defender emphasized the importance of patience and avoiding haste in his return to prevent re-injury. He credited the medical staff for their support in ensuring his physical condition is restored properly before he resumes competitive play.
