The club has a busy schedule ahead. Universitatea Craiova is due to play Inter Club D'Escaldes in Andorra in the Conference League on 2026-10-22 at 19:45.

Both teams enter this round after victories in their previous league outings. Universitatea Craiova defeated Csikszereda 1-0 away in the prior round.

Farul secured a 3-1 home win against Petrolul in their last league match. This result contributed to their current standing in the table.

Before Saturday's matches, Universitatea Craiova sits in 3rd place with 23 points. Farul is in 6th position with 17 points.

Historical records show a competitive recent history between the two sides. In the last five direct duels, Farul has recorded two wins.

Universitatea Craiova has also won two of those last five encounters. One match ended in a draw during that period.

In the previous season's regular stage, Farul defeated Universitatea Craiova 4-1. That match took place on 2025-02-01.
