Raków Częstochowa has dismissed head coach Tomasz Kaczmarek following the last matchday. The club moved quickly to secure a replacement, with Dawid Szwarga set to return to the team as the new head coach.
Kaczmarek joined Raków on 8 September 2026 after being bought from Radomiak Radom. His tenure lasted slightly over a month, during which he managed the team in five PKO Bank Polski Ekstraklasa matches.
The results under Kaczmarek included two wins and three losses. This record contributed to the decision to end his contract after just over a month in charge.
Szwarga is the fourth head coach of the season for Raków. He follows Dawid Kroczek, Dawid Szulczek, and Tomasz Kaczmarek in the role this campaign.
Raków reached an agreement with GKS Katowice to release Szwarga from his assistant role. He had been working under Rafał Górak at GKS Katowice before this move.
Szwarga will hold a press conference on Friday ahead of the match against Wisła. He is scheduled to make his debut as head coach on Saturday.
This appointment marks a return for Szwarga to Raków. He previously served as Marek Papszun's assistant in over 100 matches across two stints at the club.
Szwarga also managed Raków in 52 matches as head coach. During that period, the team reached the Champions League fourth qualifying round against Copenhagen.
After leaving Raków's staff, Szwarga managed Arka Gdynia. He led the team to promotion to the Ekstraklasa before taking the assistant role at GKS Katowice.
In other coaching news, Jacek Zieliński has left Korona Kielce after more than two years. He finished with the team in ninth place in the table.
Zieliński led Korona in 76 Ekstraklasa matches since 6 August 2024. His record included 26 wins, 24 draws, and 26 losses.
In his first two seasons with Korona, Zieliński guided the team to 11th place finishes. The team secured 45 points in one season and 43 points in the other.
