What is Ekstraklasa and how does it work?
Ekstraklasa is Poland’s top football league. In 2026–27, 18 clubs play each opponent twice, at home and away: 34 matches per team. They compete in one table throughout the season. There is no championship/play-out split or points reset.

How many points do teams get?
A win earns three points, a draw one and a defeat none. The final table determines the champion. Equal points require the PZPN tie-break procedure; goal difference alone is not the full rule.

How many teams are relegated from Ekstraklasa?
Three clubs go down directly: those finishing 16th, 17th and 18th. The replacement places go to the top two in I liga and the winner of its promotion play-offs. Those play-offs concern promotion from the second tier, not an Ekstraklasa survival round.

When is the Ekstraklasa winter break in 2026–27?
The approved calendar opens on 24–26 July 2026 and ends on 22 May 2027. Its last full round before winter is allocated to 12 December, with reserve dates later that month. The league resumes on 29 January 2027. Check the individual fixture for the actual kick-off.
Why have some clubs played fewer matches?
Games can be postponed. The league’s calendar announcement allows clubs in European qualifying to move two domestic fixtures during that qualifying period. Compare the played column as well as points when reading an incomplete table. ScoreTransfer preserves the source’s ranking rather than inventing an adjusted table.

Does a European-place marker mean a club has qualified?
No. A marker on an in-progress table is not a confirmed qualification announcement. The cup outcome and applicable UEFA rules also matter. Check the final official allocation for the relevant European season before treating a club as qualified.
