FCSB board president Mihai Stoica issued a strong critique of Superliga regulations following an incident during FC Botoșani's 1-3 defeat to Petrolul. Botoșani head coach Marius Croitoru was compelled to wear a high-visibility vest because his black attire closely resembled the kit worn by the Petrolul players. Stoica described the situation as ridiculous and noted that FCSB proactively checks opponent equipment to ensure their coaching staff is not forced into similar circumstances.

Stoica questioned the necessity of the measure, arguing that Croitoru's physique made it unlikely he would be mistaken for a player even without the vest. The FCSB official expanded his criticism to other league inconsistencies, specifically citing the placement of the away team bench behind the assistant referee rather than the home bench. He labeled the practice stupid, noting that teams like FCSB must switch benches between domestic league matches and European competitions.

Tensions escalated after the final whistle as dissatisfied FC Botoșani supporters chanted for Croitoru's resignation. In response to the chants, goalkeeping coach Alin Bordeanu shouted insults and advanced toward the section where the fans were gathered. Head coach Marius Croitoru and player Sebastian Mailat intervened to restrain Bordeanu and calm the situation. The incident was captured on camera by Prima Sport immediately after the match concluded.

The defeat to Petrolul marked the second consecutive loss for Marius Croitoru's side, coming one week after a 0-2 defeat against Dinamo at Arena Națională. These results contrasted with a previous 2-0 victory over UTA Arad, underscoring the team's inconsistent form in recent rounds. The back-to-back losses intensified pressure on the coaching staff from the home supporters.
