Italian media have identified Radu Drăgușin as the most profitable transfer in Genoa’s recent history. The ranking covers the period from summer 2022 to autumn 2025, coinciding with Marco Ottolini’s tenure as sporting director. Drăgușin tops the list due to a transaction valued at over 25 million euros.
The defender moved from Genoa to Tottenham in January 2024. The transfer fee was reported as 25 million euros, with additional substantial bonuses included in the agreement. During his time in England, Drăgușin made 48 appearances, starting 24 matches. However, inconsistent performances prevented him from becoming a central figure for the club.
Drăgușin has since returned to Serie A on loan at Fiorentina. The arrangement lasts until the summer and includes an automatic purchase clause. This obligation will be triggered once the player reaches 22 appearances for the Tuscan side. He has currently featured in 10 matches for Fiorentina.
Beyond transfer valuations, Drăgușin recently commented on his former Inter colleague Cristi Chivu. Following a match where Fiorentina lost to Inter despite leading, the defender praised Chivu. He described the coach as a model for all central defenders, both Romanian and international, noting his impressive achievements as a player and current managerial merit.
