Victor Becali has attacked Vlad Chiricheș following the player's statements on the GSP podcast "2 la 1" regarding his transfer from FCSB to Tottenham. The agent disputed the defender's version of events surrounding the 2013 deal.

Chiricheș stated that agent Pietro Chiodi handled his transfer from FCSB to Tottenham. He alleged that the Becali brothers profited from the transaction. The player also claimed that signing a contract with the Becali brothers was practically a condition for FCSB players who wanted to transfer abroad.

Victor Becali denied that FCSB players were obligated to sign representation contracts with him and his brother. He cited Mihai Bourceanu as a counterexample to the claim. Another report noted that Becali referenced Alexandru Bourceanu as an FCSB player who did not sign with them.

The agent claimed Chiricheș repeatedly asked for his help during their professional relationship. Becali said the player cried while calling his mother. He also recounted meeting Chiricheș and criticizing him for speaking about FCSB only after leaving the club.

One outlet reported that Becali alleged he recently met Chiricheș walking his dog in a forest and criticized his post-FCSB comments. Becali also claimed he provided Chiricheș with car transport to the airport or for family visits.

Tensions between the parties are not new. In 2024, Ioan Becali called Chiricheș a "traitor" for collaborating with Pietro Chiodi. This comment followed the conviction of the Becali brothers in the "Transfer File" case.
