Ianis Hagi reached an agreement with Olympique Marseille to join the club during the current transfer window, according to reports from Fanatik. The Romanian midfielder was set to leave Alanyaspor for the French side. However, this deal is now at risk of collapsing due to severe financial problems at Olympique Marseille.

Olympique Marseille has accumulated debts of 400 million euros. The club also failed to meet the wage reduction plan imposed by the DNCG, the French financial control body. These issues have placed the club under intense scrutiny from regulatory authorities.

The DNCG may impose sanctions on the club as a result of these breaches. Potential penalties include a transfer ban or points deductions in Ligue 1. A transfer ban would block Ianis Hagi's move, meaning he would remain at Alanyaspor for the time being.

Olympique Marseille officials are scheduled to meet with DNCG members at the end of November. This meeting is critical for determining the immediate future of the club's registration and transfer activities. Frank McCourt hopes to avoid a winter transfer ban if the French Professional Football League approves the new budget.

The financial control body is considering various punitive measures. Olympique Marseille could face a points deduction in the next season due to the current critical situation. Administrative relegation of Marseille to Ligue 2 is considered an unlikely decision by the authority, but it remains a theoretical possibility.

If the transfer is blocked now, the next opportunity for Hagi to move to France would be summer next year. The outcome of the upcoming meetings between club officials and the DNCG will determine whether the agreement can proceed during this window.
