Ianis Hagi is facing a likely change of club during the upcoming winter transfer window. The 27-year-old midfielder has been linked with several teams as he looks to move on from his current situation.
Hagi has been playing for Alanyaspor since September 2025. His recent performances and status have drawn attention from clubs in different leagues.
Discussions regarding his future have involved Maccabi Tel Aviv and Marseille. These clubs are among those monitoring the player as potential destinations.
Daniel Isăilă, who previously worked with Hagi at the Romania U21 level, has spoken out in support of the midfielder. Isăilă defended Hagi against harsh criticism, stating that the player does not deserve such treatment.
Isăilă emphasized that Hagi has special qualities and has affirmed himself through his own abilities. He argued that Hagi is not at fault for being the son of Gică Hagi and should be judged on his own merits.
The former coach believes that a transfer to Marseille would be a tremendous opportunity for Hagi. This endorsement comes as speculation about the French club's interest continues.
Victor Pițurcă also commented on Hagi's development and playing style. He revealed that he had advised Gică Hagi to encourage his son to play with one or two touches to avoid direct physical duels.
Pițurcă noted that Gică Hagi described his son as stubborn. Despite this, Pițurcă stated that Ianis Hagi has had good moments for the national team regardless of his playing time at club level.
