FRF disciplinary commission to judge Laurențiu Reghecampf case over unpaid debt

The FRF Disciplinary Commission is scheduled to judge the case involving Laurențiu Reghecampf on Wednesday, 14 October, at 13:00. The hearing addresses issues related to unpaid debts owed to Universitatea Craiova.

FCSB has paid the debt of 150,000 euros that was owed by Reghecampf to Universitatea Craiova. This payment covers the principal amount of the outstanding obligation.

Despite the settlement of the main debt by FCSB, Universitatea Craiova continues to claim legal interest for the period of payment delay. The club maintains its position regarding the additional financial charges.

Universitatea Craiova has requested the exclusion of Laurențiu Reghecampf from football activities. This request forms part of the disciplinary proceedings currently under review.

Tiberiu Bălan has offered support to Reghecampf, drawing from his own experience with similar disciplinary issues. Bălan faced a suspension from the FRF Disciplinary Commission in March 2025 due to unpaid debts to Rapid.

The suspension imposed on Tiberiu Bălan lasted for 522 days. It was lifted in late August 2026 after he paid his outstanding debt.

Bălan had expenses totaling 6,000 euros payable to Rapid. Additionally, the Court of Arbitration for Sport ordered him to pay 2,000 Swiss francs to Rapid for legal costs.

FCSB relies on the fact that Reghecampf received a dispensation for the match against Oțelul. The club views this as evidence that the FRF will accept the proof of debt payment.
