Călin Tiuț, aged 34, has transitioned from professional football to working as a bus driver for the Public Transport Company in Cluj. Tiuț previously won the league title with CFR Cluj in 2012 and played in Liga 1 for FC Botoșani. He is currently responsible for the daily transport of approximately 2,500 people.
Despite being part of the CFR Cluj squad, Tiuț never made his debut for the first team. He served as the third goalkeeper, citing intense competition from Beto as the primary reason for his lack of playing time. Tiuț recalled that Beto earned 40,000 euros per month and was a teammate of Cristiano Ronaldo at the national level, making it difficult for younger players to break into the lineup.
Tiuț retired from football in 2017 after deciding not to continue playing in Liga 3 for a monthly salary of 4,000 lei. Following his retirement, he worked in construction with his father's small firm before pursuing a career in public transport. He has been employed at the Public Transport Company for nearly two years, having completed driving school alongside his father.
During his time at CFR Cluj, Tiuț was part of the squad during significant European campaigns. He attended the Champions League match in Basel, where Modou Sougou scored twice to help secure qualification. Tiuț traveled with the team to training camps and shared experiences with notable teammates from the Paszkany era.
