FCSB head coach Laurențiu Reghecampf confirmed that defenders Mihai Popescu and Aymen Boutoutaou, along with forward Denis Drăguș, have recovered from their recent injuries. The trio is available for selection as the team prepares for its next SuperLiga fixture against FC Voluntari.
The match against FC Voluntari is scheduled for Monday at 21:00 at the Anghel Iordănescu Stadium. This fixture marks the final game of round 12 in the Romanian top flight. FCSB enters the contest following a 1-0 victory over Oțelul Galați in their previous outing under Reghecampf.
Denis Drăguș had been sidelined after sustaining an injury during a start under former coach Marius Baciu. He left the pitch in tears in the 42nd minute of the match against Universitatea Craiova due to medical issues. One month later, the 27-year-old returned to training but was not immediately ready for competitive action.
Reghecampf stated that Drăguș underwent an MRI scan on Saturday which showed no structural issues. Despite the clear scan, the player still experiences minor discomfort. The coach noted that Drăguș completed full training sessions with the squad, including a session on the day before the announcement.
There is uncertainty regarding whether Drăguș will feature against FC Voluntari. Reports suggest the coaching staff may preserve him for the upcoming derby against Rapid. Reghecampf expressed hope that the forward could be used in the next match, but his participation remains unconfirmed.
Aymen Boutoutaou also returns to full fitness after treating a muscle problem in Belgrade. He is now reported to be 100 percent fit and has trained at full capacity with the team. However, it remains uncertain if he will start against FC Voluntari as the staff manages his workload.
Mihai Popescu has improved his condition after playing 60 minutes for the second team. His return adds depth to the defensive options for Reghecampf. The coach confirmed that all three players are now physically recovered from their respective setbacks.
FCSB faces a FC Voluntari side that has lost its last three matches against Rapid, U Cluj and Corvinul. The last meeting between these two clubs ended in a 2-1 victory for FCSB in Ilfov in February 2024. Alexandru Stoian, who scored the decisive goal in the previous win over Oțelul Galați, is unavailable for the upcoming match due to a COVID-19 diagnosis.
