Aymen Boutoutaou returned to action for FCSB in the match against FC Voluntari after a rapid recovery from injury. The French player was available for the game, which ended in a 2-1 victory for his team. Alexandru Stoian scored the decisive goal in the duel.
Boutoutaou had been unavailable for the previous match against Oțelul Galați. That game marked the debut of coach Laurențiu Reghecampf. The player reported medical issues after the 1-0 victory over Oțelul.
Club officials decided to send Boutoutaou to Belgrade, Serbia, for treatment. He visited specialist Marijana Kovacevic to aid his recovery. Mihai Stoica stated that Kovacevic is a pharmacist who uses a specific gel for treatment.
Stoica explained that the gel conducts current more easily, which helps the recovery process. He noted it is hard to believe a potential 30-day absence could be reduced to just three days. Stoica also claimed that John Terry once recovered in one day after about 17 hours of treatment.
Boutoutaou played 18 minutes in the match at Voluntari. In the 78th minute, he missed a chance to make the score 2-0 by shooting over the bar. He also hit the post in extra time.
Mihai Stoica criticized the miss and stated that Boutoutaou entered the match without much courage. However, the club official confirmed he has not lost confidence in the French player.
Boutoutaou was signed from Sochaux in the summer for a fee of 1.3 million euros. He has made 12 appearances and scored two goals for the red-and-blue team since his arrival.
