FC Argeș supporters chanted for the resignation of head coach Bogdan Andone immediately after the final whistle of their match against CFR Cluj. The demand came at the end of a 1-0 defeat in the 11th round of the Superliga, played at Mioveni.

The result left FC Argeș with 11 points from 11 matches. The team sits in 13th place in the league table. Their record consists of three wins, two draws, and six losses. This performance marks a significant decline from the previous season.

Last season, FC Argeș had accumulated 22 points after the same number of rounds. They were in fourth place at that stage and held a positive goal difference of plus five. Under Andone’s leadership last term, the club reached the play-off stage and defeated eventual champions Universitatea Craiova.

The current campaign has seen the team go seven consecutive Superliga matches without a victory. The latest setback came against CFR Cluj, who moved up to eighth place with 16 points after securing the win.

Ivan Kresic scored the only goal of the game for CFR Cluj in the 58th minute. The strike came from a cross delivered by Andrei Cordea. Earlier in the second half, FC Argeș player Luvambo hit the post in the 49th minute.

Andone highlighted his team’s offensive efforts despite the loss. He stated that his players registered 20 shots on target during the match. He also noted that Tofan hit the post from an empty net and missed a chance from six meters out.

On the opposing sideline, CFR Cluj coach Marius Șumudică faced heckling from some spectators but responded by applauding them. During the match, Șumudică was observed speaking Portuguese with FC Argeș striker Ricardo Matos.

Andone has remained at FC Argeș despite external interest. He previously rejected an offer from FCSB owner Gigi Becali to return to that club. The current pressure from fans follows a difficult start to the season compared to their prior achievements.
