Dragomir estimates Luca Băsceanu could be worth up to 5 million euros

Dumitru Dragomir has highlighted the potential of Universitatea Craiova midfielder Luca Băsceanu, suggesting the 20-year-old could command a significant transfer fee in the future. The former head of the Professional Football League identified Băsceanu as a talent worth monitoring closely within the SuperLiga.

Băsceanu, who was developed at Gheorghe Hagi’s academy before transferring from Farul Constanța to Universitatea Craiova, recently delivered a notable performance. He contributed to his current team’s 2-0 victory against his former club, demonstrating his capabilities on the pitch despite limited appearances in his first season.

Dragomir emphasized that continuity is essential for the young midfielder’s development. He stated that Băsceanu must receive more minutes to establish himself as a professional footballer, noting that the player faces competition from established attackers but operates in a different role than teammates such as Baiaram.

When asked about the potential financial return for Universitatea Craiova, Dragomir provided a bold estimate. He suggested that if Băsceanu continues to develop and secure regular playing time, his market value could rise to between 4 and 5 million euros.
