Sepsi owner Laszlo Dioszegi held an emergency meeting with players and technical staff after the 5-0 home defeat to Universitatea Craiova, warning that measures would follow if performances did not improve.
The SuperLiga round-13 defeat left Sepsi with 14 points from 13 matches, in 12th place. Dioszegi described it as the most humiliating loss under his ownership and said he had not slept that night.
Romanchuk opened the scoring in the second minute. Al Hamlawi and Elisor each scored twice for Universitatea Craiova, while Sepsi failed to register a shot on target.
According to the accounts published by Sport.ro and GSP, Dioszegi discussed the performance with both the squad and coaching staff. He criticised their attitude and lack of leadership, saying the players acknowledged they had played poorly and lacked a leader on the pitch.
Dioszegi also pointed to the lack of corners during 95 minutes of play. He told the group of thirty mature men that he could not act as their leader and expected them to respond professionally.
The owner said salaries and bonuses were up to date and that the club provided four-star accommodation and food. In return, he expected a professional attitude from the team.
It was the second 5-0 defeat of the season for Ovidiu Burca’s side, following the away loss to FC Botosani in round eight. Dioszegi’s warning concerned possible measures if the situation continued; the reports did not announce a coaching dismissal.
