Dinamo București is preparing to part ways with central midfielder Cristi Mihai on a temporary basis. The club expects to send him on loan during the January transfer window because he has not received sufficient playing time under head coach Nuno Campos.

Mihai joined Dinamo from UTA Arad in the summer of 2025. The transfer fee was 350,000 euros. The move was partly motivated by the need to satisfy the league's U21 player regulations at that time.

His involvement in matches has decreased significantly since Nuno Campos took charge of the team. Mihai has made only three appearances this season and has accumulated a total of 55 minutes on the pitch.

Most of his playing time came in the Romanian Cup. He played a full half in the group stage match where Dinamo defeated Sporting Liești 4-1. In the Superligă, he has featured for only 10 minutes across two matches against Petrolul Ploiești and Universitatea Craiova.

Reports indicate that Dinamo is considering the loan move because Mihai will no longer qualify as a U21 solution in the following season. His current contract with the club runs until 2030, which makes a permanent transfer unlikely at this stage.

Despite the expected departure, Mihai may still feature in the immediate future. He is likely to start in the upcoming Romanian Cup match against Chindia Târgoviște. This opportunity arises due to injuries to competitors Andrei Mărginean and Matthias Verreth.

Dinamo currently leads the Superligă table. The team has collected 30 points after 13 rounds. Club representative Andrei Nicolescu stated that Dinamo is planning for the January transfer window but expects very few modifications to the squad.

Market valuations for the midfielder have adjusted during his tenure. Transfermarkt currently values Cristi Mihai at 650,000 euros. This figure is down from 900,000 euros one year ago.
