Rapid Bucharest head coach Daniel Pancu has rejected claims that his team is in crisis following a heavy defeat to city rivals FCSB. The comments came after Rapid president Victor Angelescu addressed the loss and responded to earlier statements made by the coach.

FCSB scored four goals against Rapid in the previous round of the league derby. Rapid had led the match at halftime before conceding the second-half goals.

Pancu stated that Rapid is not in crisis. He noted that the team remains high in the league standings ahead of their upcoming match against Csikszereda.

The coach described the loss to FCSB as not negative. He contextualized the result as one match out of 13 league games and two cup matches played by the team.

Pancu highlighted inconsistencies in the criticism directed at Rapid compared to FCSB. He claimed that FCSB lost five consecutive league matches without facing similar scrutiny.

He further noted that FCSB lost 5-0 to Craiova during that period. Pancu also pointed out that FCSB was eliminated from European competition by a team from Latvia, which he considered inferior to Rapid.
