CS Afumați defender Constantin Robicek posted a public message on Facebook on Sunday afternoon to thank supporters for their messages and calls following a severe injury. He shared the update while recovering in the hospital after undergoing surgery.

The injury occurred on Saturday, 2026-10-17, during a Liga II match between Popești Leordeni and CS Afumați at Clinceni. Popești Leordeni won the match 2-0.

Robicek sustained the injury in the 22nd minute of the game. Mihai Neicuțescu caused an open ankle fracture after slipping and falling on Robicek's leg during play.

Referee Cristian Vîrgolici did not issue a yellow card to Neicuțescu for the foul. Robicek was transported to Spitalul Militar and underwent surgery on the same day as the incident.

Reports indicate the diagnosis includes a tibia and fibula fracture with a torn malleolus, requiring support plates. Digi Sport reports that the injury endangers his career, and it is considered likely that the injury will end his football career.

Robicek has spent his entire senior career playing for CS Afumați. Sources differ on his age, with one stating he is 37 years old and another stating he is 38. He has two children.

CS Afumați coach Vasile Neagu stated that Robicek has been with him for 17 years. Neagu offered Robicek a staff role if he is forced to retire from playing and confirmed he will remain in the club's staff.
