UTA Arad secured a 2-2 draw against FC Botoșani in the second round of Group A of the Cupa României. The match ended with late drama as UTA Arad managed to equalize after falling behind.

FC Botoșani took the lead through goals from Enriko Papa and Roland Idowu. UTA Arad responded with strikes from Jayson Papeau and Alin Roman, with Roman scoring in the 90th minute to secure the point.

Despite the result, UTA Arad coach Adrian Mihalcea expressed concern over significant personnel losses. Samuel Gueulette suffered an injury before the match began, while top scorer Marius Coman was forced off in the 13th minute after taking a knee to the back.

Mihalcea indicated that the severity of Coman’s injury is not yet clear and requires further medical investigation. Consequently, both Gueulette and Coman are considered uncertain for the upcoming league fixture against Dinamo.

The coaching staff faced limited options during the cup tie. Mihalcea had only seven outfield players available on the bench, three of whom were 17 years old and had little to no Superliga experience.
