Universitatea Cluj head coach Cristiano Bergodi refused to speak to the media after his team’s 2-2 draw with FC Argeș. This marked the second consecutive match without a victory for the Cluj side, following a previous 3-4 defeat to Rapid. Assistant coach Eugen Cebotaru stepped in to provide post-match comments after Bergodi declined the flash interview.

Cebotaru explained that Bergodi was extremely upset with the result and did not feel well, which led to his absence from the press area. The assistant noted that sadness had accumulated within the squad because Bergodi had told the players that any outcome other than a victory would be considered a failure. Cebotaru added that an analysis would be conducted to identify where major errors were occurring within the team.

The match itself was eventful, with FC Argeș opening the scoring in the 25th minute through Matos, who converted a penalty awarded for a handball by Mikanovic. Universitatea Cluj responded quickly, equalizing two minutes later through Lukic after a free kick cross by Macalou. The home side took the lead in the 44th minute via an own goal by Florin Borța, but FC Argeș leveled the score at 2-2 shortly after halftime through Pîrvu.

Following this result, Universitatea Cluj remains in fifth place in the SuperLiga standings, having accumulated 19 points from 12 rounds. FC Argeș, meanwhile, sits in 13th place with 12 points. Cebotaru acknowledged the disappointment but emphasized the need for the team to recover mentally and physically for upcoming fixtures.
