The 13th round of the Superliga features a traditional Romanian football derby between FCSB and Rapid. Ahead of the fixture, analysts Bogdan Cosmescu and Basarab Panduru discussed the teams' current form during a live broadcast on Prima Sport.
Cosmescu identified Rapid as the primary favorite for the match, pointing to significant defensive weaknesses within the FCSB squad. He noted that the champion team has conceded goals even against opponents such as Voluntari, suggesting a lack of defensive solidity. While acknowledging that FCSB players display a different level of willpower, Cosmescu argued that the team has not made substantial progress in their footballing approach.
Panduru offered a more cautious perspective, agreeing that Rapid possesses the quality to score against FCSB but stopping short of labeling them as clear favorites. He expressed specific concern regarding FCSB's performance in the second halves of their matches. According to Panduru, Rapid is likely to adopt a tactical approach where they hold their position in midfield and wait to exploit FCSB on the counter-attack.
Despite the differing views on the favorite, Cosmescu emphasized Rapid's high quality in attack. He maintained that under normal circumstances, Rapid would be considered the favorite, though he acknowledged the inherent unpredictability of football results. Current records show FCSB with five victories, three draws, and four defeats heading into this crucial encounter.
