FCSB captain Karlo Muhar is fit to play in the upcoming derby against Rapid after sustaining a minor finger injury. Medical tests confirmed that the damage was not serious, allowing him to return to full team training. He had trained separately earlier in the week but rejoined the squad on Thursday ahead of the match.

The injury occurred during the round 12 match against FC Voluntari, which FCSB won 2-1. Muhar was substituted at halftime due to the medical issue. Club official Mihai Stoica initially stated that the player had a bruised finger and that a fracture was possible, causing uncertainty about his availability for the next game.

The derby against Rapid is scheduled for Saturday, 24 October, at 21:00 at Arena Națională. The match will be broadcast on Digi Sport 1 and Prima Sport 1. Mihai Stoica estimated that more than 30,000 fans could attend the fixture, highlighting the significance of the encounter between the two clubs.

Coach Laurențiu Reghecampf is likely to deploy Muhar in defense alongside Risto Radunovic for the match. Muhar became captain upon Reghecampf's arrival, sharing the role with Denis Drăguș. Reports suggest that Drăguș may also be recovered and available for selection in the upcoming derby.

Muhar has started every game since joining FCSB as a free agent in September 2026. He has made four appearances for the club without contributing directly to any goals. His recent starts included matches against Oțelul and Voluntari. FCSB agreed to pay him 20,000 euros per month with a 250,000 euro signing bonus on a contract running until June 2028.

FCSB paid CFR Cluj 1.5 million euros to secure Muhar's transfer. Transfermarkt values the player at 1.2 million euros. His previous clubs include Kayserispor, Al-Orobah, CSKA-Sofia, NK Inter, and Lech Poznan. Following the victory over Voluntari, FCSB moved up to sixth place in the Superliga with 18 points from 12 rounds.

Rapid currently sits in second place in the league table with 27 points. They trail the leader, Dinamo, by two points. The upcoming match represents a key opportunity for FCSB to close the gap on the top teams in the Superliga standings.
