Agent claims Universitatea Craiova goalkeeper Răzvan Sava may leave for Italy

Agent Giovanni Becali announced that Universitatea Craiova goalkeeper Răzvan Sava will leave the club in the winter transfer window to return to Italy.

Becali claimed Sava is on loan with one year remaining on his contract. This statement contradicts the announcement made by Universitatea Craiova in June, which described the deal as a permanent four-year agreement.

The agent suggested that Udinese may have extended Sava's contract before the loan arrangement. He indicated that the Italian club could arrange a future move for the player, possibly to a team in Serie B.

Sava joined Universitatea Craiova from Udinese in the summer. The move followed an injury to the club's starting goalkeeper, Pavlo Isenko.

Udinese originally acquired Sava from CFR Cluj in August 2024. The transfer fee was reported to be approximately 2.5 million euros.

Before returning to Romania, Sava made 23 appearances for Udinese. These matches took place in Serie A and the Italian Cup.

Sava has played eight official matches for Universitatea Craiova. He conceded ten goals and kept two clean sheets during this period.

One notable performance included a Superliga defeat to Dinamo București in the second round of the season. Sava conceded five goals in the 5-1 loss.

Laurențiu Popescu has been preferred as the starting goalkeeper for Universitatea Craiova in recent periods. This shift in selection reduced Sava's playing time.

Sava's last appearance for the club was in September. He played in a Romanian Cup match against FC Bacău, which Universitatea Craiova won 2-1.
