The Ekstraklasa League Commission has sanctioned Widzew Łódź with financial penalties and additional restrictions following incidents during their recent match. The decision addresses fan behavior observed during the game against Wisła Kraków, which concluded as a goalless draw.

Club spokesperson Jakub Dyktyński confirmed that Widzew Łódź is required to pay a fine of 50,000 zloty. Additionally, organized supporter groups are prohibited from traveling to the upcoming fixture against GKS Katowice scheduled for October 31.

The disciplinary body cited the mass deployment of pyrotechnics by home supporters as the primary reason for the intervention. These materials were ignited during the first half of the contest, generating thick smoke that significantly reduced visibility on the pitch.

Match official Marcin Szczerbowicz was compelled to suspend play around the 28th minute as conditions prevented the game from continuing. The resulting interruption lasted for nearly 10 minutes, causing a notable extension to the first half and disturbing the flow of the event.
