Vasas FC forward Milán Tóth has been diagnosed with a serious knee injury that will keep him sidelined for an extended period. The Hungarian national team player sustained the damage during a league match against MTK Budapest.
Medical staff conducted an MRI scan on Saturday to assess the extent of the damage. The imaging confirmed that Tóth tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
The injury requires surgical intervention. Following the operation, Tóth is expected to undergo approximately eight months of rehabilitation to recover full fitness.
Due to the lengthy recovery timeline, Tóth is almost certainly ruled out for the remainder of the current season. This absence represents a significant blow to both his club and the national team setup.
The Hungarian Football Federation stated that the four-month suspension of U16 captain Umathum Roland was near the minimum required by disciplinary rules for pushing a referee.
Four RB Salzburg players were injured during a 3-1 away victory against the previous season's champion, with reports indicating they will miss upcoming cup fixtures.
