Inter Milan and Shakhtar Donetsk played to a 0-0 draw at halftime in their recent Champions League encounter. The first half saw Inter control proceedings initially, though Shakhtar created chances late in the period before the break.

Tensions rose in the 54th minute when Shakhtar’s 21-year-old Brazilian winger Alisson Santana attempted a flashy skill move against Inter defender Federico Dimarco. Alisson tried to lift the ball over Dimarco using a technique known as the 'braziliana' near the sideline. Dimarco responded by blocking the ball with his hand during the attempt.

Following the play, Inter forward Marcus Thuram reacted aggressively to Alisson’s gesture. Thuram committed a hard foul from behind, knocking the Shakhtar player to the ground. The Inter striker then approached Alisson to confront him about the earlier incident, appearing visibly upset by the display of skill.

The referee issued a yellow card to Thuram for the dangerous intervention. The entire sequence unfolded in full view of Shakhtar head coach Cristi Chivu, who was observing from the technical area. The incident highlighted the competitive nature of the match as both sides sought an advantage.
