SK Slavia Prague is actively scouting for potential striker replacements following the suspension of Tomáš Chorý. The club has employed data analytics from Opta to analyze thirty European leagues, aiming to find players who match Chorý's specific profile. The search has narrowed down to candidates who are ideally under thirty years old and available on the transfer market during the winter window.

The difficulty in finding a suitable successor stems from Chorý's unique statistical output. He averages 0.82 goals per 90 minutes with an expected goals value of 0.75, although these numbers are influenced by his effectiveness from set pieces. Replicating his combination of aerial dominance and set-piece threat is considered a significant challenge for the recruitment team.

Among the domestic options, Matěj Pulkrab of Teplice was identified as a viable candidate. Pulkrab previously attracted interest from Slavia in the spring of 2022 before moving to Germany. While his physical attributes align with Slavia's requirements, concerns remain regarding his speed and suitability for European competitions.

International targets include Josué Vergara, a nineteen-year-old Panamanian striker owned by Gent. Vergara joined the Belgian club in the summer of 2026 and is viewed as a costly investment due to his long-term contract and rising value. Another prominent name is Lasse Nordås of Cracovia, whose profile is suggested to fit Slavia's tactical needs most closely among the foreign options.

The shortlist also features Janni Serra from Aarhus and Ilya Shkurin from GKS Katowice. These players were selected based on their statistical similarities to Chorý in terms of goal production and aerial duels. The club must now decide which aspects of Chorý's game are essential to retain and which can be compromised in the final selection.
