Former PFC Levski Sofia captain Roman Prochazka participated in an extensive interview for the Podkast v efira program on Darik radio. The Slovak footballer used the opportunity to discuss his career history with the Bulgarian club and address upcoming fixtures involving Viktoria Plzen, where he previously played in the Champions League.
When reflecting on the hierarchy within the dressing room during his time at Levski, Prochazka identified Georgi Ivanov as the most significant figure. He described the intense respect commanded by Ivanov, noting that teammates watched him closely and that the surrounding atmosphere was so tense that people reportedly did not even breathe when he spoke.
Regarding his current connections to the club, Prochazka stated that he has not been in recent contact with anyone from Levski. He recalled speaking with former teammate Zhivko Milanov approximately two months ago regarding a specific player, but noted that communication is more difficult for him as he does not use social media platforms.
Despite the lack of regular contact, Prochazka revealed that Valeri Bozhinov recently facilitated a connection with the Levski press officer. This interaction led to an invitation for Prochazka to attend a match as a guest, which he expressed willingness to do when his schedule permits.
Prochazka also shared insights into the managerial changes at Levski, observing that many coaches rotated through the club during his tenure. He stated that he attempted to learn something new from each manager, choosing to focus on positive memories rather than the difficult moments that inevitably occurred.
On the topic of individual colleagues, Prochazka found it difficult to name a single best teammate but highlighted Gabriel Obertan. He compared Obertan's performance in training sessions to that of Lionel Messi, although he noted that this high level of play did not always translate directly to official matches.
Looking back on his most challenging experiences, Prochazka cited a missed penalty against PFC Slavia Sofia as the most difficult moment of his career. He admitted that he was not mentally prepared for the spot-kick during what he knew would be his final season, aiming to secure a title but feeling unwell at the critical moment.
Following his departure from Bulgaria, Prochazka returned to FC Spartak Trnava. He reported success in his home country after this return, stating that he won the national cup competition three times during his subsequent spell with the club.
