The professional registration periods
FIFA’s Bulgaria snapshot gives 29 June to 8 September 2026 for the summer professional period and 18 January to 25 February 2027 for winter. A Bulgarian club can therefore still be in its registration window after a foreign league has closed its own incoming window.

The local detail that matters
For a move into the First League, use the Bulgarian receiving-club rules. For a player sold abroad, check the destination’s deadline instead. A Bulgarian report that says a transfer is agreed does not establish whether the receiving club has completed registration or whether the player can take part in the next fixture.

Agreed, signed and registered are different stages
A reported agreement describes negotiations; a club announcement confirms what that club has stated. Neither should automatically be described as clearance to play. For an international move, identify the receiving club and its association, the player’s professional status and whether the necessary registration has been confirmed. Exceptions require their own supporting rule; “free agent” is not enough on its own to establish eligibility.
Keep the football context in view
Read the latest transfer reporting alongside the league schedule. A signing can arrive after the campaign has started, while a player registered during winter may join before league fixtures resume. These pages cover football context for readers; the federation’s current decisions remain the operational reference for clubs.
